Everyone knows that living in Lagos is a herculean task. For a person that lives in Lagos, 90% of your day is you trying to keep calm while dealing with all the wild things the city throws at you. Here are a few tips we use to ensure our happiness and peace of mind.

1) Don’t go anywhere if you don’t absolutely have to.

Because of the traffic. Like, why would you put yourself through that INTENTIONALLY? Whatever it is (weekend, public holidays), stay in ya house.

2) Manage your time.

Feeling overburdened by to-do lists is a source of stress for a lot of people. The key to stopping this is to understand that you can’t do everything at once and prioritizing your task. List out all the things you need to do and list them in other of genuine priority. Remember as well to create buffer times to deal with unexpected and emergency tasks, and to include time for your own relaxation and well-being.

3) Exercise.

Sneak in a half-hour of exercising before work (or a few hours after work) and watch it do wonders for your overall wellbeing. Make no mistake, it’ll feel terrible at the beginning. But it will eventually become routine for your body.

4) Prioritize sleep.

Let’s be honest, between getting up early for work and returning really late, you most likely don’t get enough sleep. Here’s a suggestion on what to do when you stay home because you absolutely don’t have to go anywhere: catch up on sleep.

5) Get Life Insurance

When you get life insurance, you get peace of mind which is the ultimate stress reliever. This goes a long way because when you’re old, you’ll have the funds to have other people manage stuff for you. It’s super important to get life insurance now, irrespective of how old you are, so that you have a safety net and will be prepared for anything that might happen.
