Lagos, 12 September 2023 – The Board of Trustees and Management of the Society of Book and Magazine Editors of Nigeria (SBMEN) are proud to announce its upcoming fiction and non-fiction workshop themed: The Fundamentals of Editing Fiction and Non-Fiction. A three-weekend virtual training scheduled to hold from 15 to 30 September 2023

The aim of the workshop is to train participants in the fundamental techniques of editing and improving fiction and non-fiction stories. According to the Executive Director, Anwuli Ojogwu, “The course will help participants gain understanding of the core building blocks of fiction and non-fiction, and work on breaking down strengths and weaknesses.” The course requires a combination of creativity, critical and technical skills.

Early and emerging editors, writers and content creators will benefit greatly from this course as well as established editors and writers who want to improve or refresh their existing skills. The course will be delivered through discussions, group work, class exercises, reading assignments and case studies.

The training sessions will be facilitated by experienced professional editors and writers from Nigeria and Ghana.
