Blackness is an identity that black people all over the world sometimes struggle with. The irony, however, is that even though we all share this identity, we experience it differently because of the countries we live in.

Spurred by the many different experiences she has lived through as a black person in Nigeria, the UK, and America, Funmi Oyatogun created and launched Fill in The Black, a game to celebrate blackness and unite black people by filling in the existing communication gap between black people around the world.

This game is a necessary addition to pop culture because despite being a great and fun way to spend time bonding with friends and family, it is also a great tool to acknowledge and teach diversity. Genius right?

When black people talk about diversity and promoting black culture, the mediums that come to mind are always movies and music, but the year is 2020 and we’re watching a card game do it too.

Fill in the Black is a game that has created a fun platform that cuts across the different layers and nuances of blackness to unite black people. But it’s not an exclusive ride. People of other races are welcome and encouraged to join.

Fill in the Black is a fun guessing game (like taboo, charades, heads up, etc) with an agenda is to teach and unite black people everywhere.
