John Boyega is popular in Nigeria for his role as Ugwu in the movie adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie’s novel, Half of a Yellow Sun.
Rising through the acting ranks of Hollywood, he got the lead role playing Finn in the latest release of fan fiction series Star Wars.
As expected, racists who aren’t used to seeing black people in the spotlight complained and asked to boycott the movie.
In 2014 upon release of the movie trailer, the haters went on full throttle with their keyboards.
He simply replied with a post on Instagram with the caption “Get used to it”. The photo was later deleted in 2015.
And in his recent interview with New York Times, he shut all the racists down, with class of course.
He described himself as a confident,Nigerian, black and chocolate man who wasn’t afraid of people with a disease of the mind.
The Star Wars movie premiered on December 14 and you can watch the trailer here.
