If you had planned to skip the upcoming FIFA 21, you should probably reconsider. Yesterday, EA released the official soundtrack for the game, and it features songs by Nigerian superstars, Fireboy DML and Rema.

Fireboy DML’s “Scatter”, off his acclaimed debut album, Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps, and Rema’s “Beamer” both made the cut, alongside tracks by international stars like Dua Lipa and Tame Impala.

Now here’s the thing: FIFA soundtracks are a huge aspect of the game. They give users an unmatched experience, and for music heads, it’s an opportunity to discover new music.

For example, if you play any song from the legendary FIFA 14 soundtrack — from American Author’s “Hit It” to Disclosure’s “F For You” — around an avid FIFA player, they’ll definitely feel nostalgic.

The widely anticipated FIFA 21 is scheduled to be released on October 9, and while fans have had mixed feelings on what to expect since the trailer dropped, this soundtrack is impossible to dislike.

For Nigerian music as a whole, and for Rema and Fireboy personally, this is a great win. They’re both going to have a big 2021.

Rema and Fireboy DML have also announced the news on their Instagram pages and fans are super excited. Rema also announced that he would be doing a special performance on Oct 1st as part of the FIFA 21 World Premiere and we can’t wait to see that.

Imagine beating your guy on FIFA and then the next thing you hear is “Party scatter…”
