TBT – 8 Beautiful Pictures from the Nigerian Presidential Transition

Nigeria made history a few months ago when Muhammadu Buhari became the first politician to ever unseat a president at the ballot box, and almost as impressive as that feat, was the peaceful relinquishing of power by the sitting president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

The super talented @TYBello was present at the memorable transition, and as we edge closer to Buhari’s 100th day in office, we decided to gather our favorite pictures from the event for our not-so throwback Thursday:

Sorry for the break in transmission people.. Let's blame it on Chris and Chris?. They were such a welcoming contrast to how hard I had to work in the last few days …So..as promised , I'll be sharing photographs I made from the the state box of the inauguration ceremony.I will also share from the villa tour . BUHARI AND JONATHAN : A BEAUTIFUL EXCHANGE In the last few days ,I was honored to photograph really closely as Nigeria made its final transition from one government to the next.Away from the view of every one,as President Jonathan took President Buhari on a tour of the presidential villa, I witnessed something really Sacred:THEY WERE HOLDING EACH OTHERS HANDS. It was a divine moment…Unguarded .. Side by side: SERVANTS and KINGS. Paving way and making way to and for a greener land . ITS MORNING NIGERIA.. we must wake up …postured to do the same:supporting each other as we walk towards the change we seek. .I will be sharing my photographs of the build up to yesterday's inauguration and also older , unpublished work from the last seven years.
