  • Smirnoff X1 isn’t just a drink, it’s the exchange rate of the night. The moment it arrives, the atmosphere shifts. The bass feels heavier, the colours grow louder, and the crowd sharpens into motion. Cold, bold, electric, X1 is the spark that flips any gathering from ordinary to fully charged, the same ignition energy that defines the pulse of every rave, anticipation, build-up, and the explosive release when the beat finally drops.

Rave culture has never cared for rules. It celebrates expression over conformity, vibe over structure, freedom over formality. And that’s exactly where Smirnoff X1 feels most at home. With its unapologetic attitude and street-born edge, X1 mirrors the counter-cultural spirit that powers the underground, the rebellion, the individuality, the desire to break the mould and dance past all expectations.

    [ad]

The sensory world of a rave is intense, neon flashes, strobes slicing the darkness, smoke curling around silhouettes, and basslines that throb through skin and bone. X1 thrives in that environment. Its crisp hit and daring flavours blend seamlessly into the overload, heightening the moment and sharpening the edges. Where light blurs and sound peaks, X1 becomes another layer of the experience, a bold flavour to match the bold sound.

Every expression of X1 brings its own attitude: strong, daring, crafted for nights that refuse to slow down. Just like rave culture, it leans into extremes. It’s for the ones who move like the night belongs to them, unfiltered, fearless, and unbothered about what comes with sunrise.

Rooted in the streets and raised in the heartbeat of nightlife, Smirnoff X1 carries the urban credibility that gives raves their edge. Warehouses, rooftops, underground basements, abandoned lots, wherever the rave pops up, the pulse is the same. X1 speaks that language fluently. It isn’t a visitor to the culture; it’s a native.

Together, rave culture and Smirnoff X1 form a powerful exchange, one drives the rhythm, the other defines the attitude. And when they collide, the night doesn’t just happen; it transforms into something unforgettable, something electric, something that lives far beyond the final beat.

Smirnoff X1: not just igniting nights, not just fueling raves, but becoming the cultural currency of the movement itself.

  • On the 29th of November, 2025, the Isimi Festival’s evening segment kicked off with its first immersive fashion experience. The primary objective of this fashion experience was to showcase Isimi’s innovative mind. A mind where nature, technology, and effortless elegance can perfectly intertwine.

On arrival, guests were handed silent-disco headphones so they could be fully aware of how each look came with a sound different from the others. Listening to the music specifically chosen for a brand helped one better understand the ideas behind the designs. The virtual reality section, however, was the cherry on top. Through virtual reality, interested guests were given access to the universe where the visions, sketches, and ideas behind the designs were actualized.

The fashion show introduced a mix of brow-raising, eye-catching designs that definitely prompted discussions among guests. The Meme Rocha models graced the runway with beautiful designs that promoted the brand’s main tenets (quality, premium, and attention to detail). They were followed by the designs of Liv & Eve, a brand that creates women’s outfits so they can feel like the main characters in every space they step into. Liv & Eve transitioned into eü1987, a fashion label 100% centred on linen bespoke wears, and after we moved away from the world of eü1987, we were welcomed into the universe of Nitémi. This brand promises to create timeless pieces for our happiest moments.

Black Adudu was one of our favourite designs of the night. The celebration of African royalty was quite stunning. Minengiby showed us dresses that felt familiar yet unique. While cups of creamy pasta were being served to the guests, Bornstarng (BNG) ended the show with striking outfits further complemented by the bags in the models’ hands.

Once the event ended, guests were promptly transported to the main field for the after-party. Watching dancers entrance the guests with their moves was a surreal experience, and the way the dance session seamlessly moved to the concert was even more amazing. The thrilling performances by Made Kuti, Loud Choir, and The Cavemen left every guest satisfied and inspired by the festival. This is a perfect reminder that Isimi Festival is not just a festival but an experience. A completely exhilarating experience.

  • By Sophia Mudanza

The phone rang at 3 AM in Sydney. Matteo Ferretti answered with the weary voice of someone who had fielded countless desperate calls from startup founders. This one came from Mumbai, an entrepreneur with a fintech idea but zero credibility in the eyes of investors.

For decades, public relations thrived on monthly retainers. Firms hoped for the best and accepted that results remained perpetually uncertain. Agencies charged Fortune 500 companies millions while offering nothing more than vague promises of increased visibility.

Startups, desperate for credibility, hemorrhaged cash on retainer fees while watching their runway disappear with little to show for it. The industry thrived on this uncertainty, billing $112 billion annually while clients remained trapped in a cycle of hope and disappointment.

    The accountability revolution

Spynn emerged from this broken system with contractual guarantees backed by money-back policies. While traditional agencies pitched possibilities, Ferretti’s team delivered certainties: Forbes placements within 72 hours, Yahoo features with downloadable logos, and Business Insider articles with live URLs. The model seemed too good to be true until the results started speaking for themselves.

Clients report 100:1 return on investment. Website traffic increases by 450%. Sales cycles shorten by 40%. One client transformed from an unknown startup to a $30 million revenue company within 24 months. These weren’t anomalies but a new standard Spynn had established through systematic execution.

    Beyond promises: Measurable transformation

The startup ecosystem had grown weary of agencies that treated publicity as mysterious, unpredictable, and often ineffective. Entrepreneurs needed credibility to attract investors, customers, and top talent. They needed it fast, and they needed it guaranteed.

For many, the ability to get featured in Forbes became a decisive milestone, opening doors to funding opportunities and market partnerships that traditional channels couldn’t match. Spynn’s proprietary network of 200+ tier-one publications became the bridge between startup ambition and market recognition.

Consider any company’s plight. They pay retainers averaging $10,000 monthly for six-month campaigns, spending $60,000 for uncertain outcomes. Many received no meaningful coverage. Others secured mentions in obscure trade publications that generated minimal business impact. The waste was so high, particularly for resource-constrained startups.

Spynn’s model changed the game entirely. Clients paid for results, not activities. Publications like Forbes and Entrepreneur became accessible through guaranteed placement. The speed of delivery, which is normally 72 hours to two weeks versus traditional timelines of two to six months, meant startups could coordinate media coverage with product launches and funding announcements.

Critics initially dismissed the guaranteed placement model as unsustainable. How could any agency promise specific editorial outcomes? The answer lay in relationships, systems, and accountability. Spynn had built direct connections with editors and publishers. The company had developed content creation processes that met editorial standards while serving client objectives. Most importantly, it had staked its reputation on delivering results rather than managing expectations.

    Global expansion and industry positioning

The global expansion tells another story of systematic growth. From Australia to North America, Europe to Asia-Pacific, Spynn established a presence in markets where traditional agencies had dominated for decades. In an industry crowded with PR agencies for startups, Spynn distinguished itself through contractual guarantees. The 16,000 inquiries received since launch demonstrated massive untapped demand for accountability in professional services.

Today, Spynn operates at the intersection of media transformation and startup acceleration. The company’s 83% year-over-year growth is proof of the fundamental shift in how professional services deliver value. Clients no longer accept “best efforts” when guarantees are available. They no longer tolerate uncertain timelines when speed is possible. They no longer pay retainers when performance-based pricing offers better alignment.

It will not take long before this change in public relations extends into professional services as a whole. Consulting companies and marketing agencies face similar pressure to move from retainer-based models to results-driven pricing. Spynn’s success provides a roadmap for this transformation, showing that accountability can coexist with profitability.

The story of Spynn is ultimately the story of trust rebuilt through systematic delivery. Every Forbes placement, every Yahoo feature, every client success is a small victory against an industry that has forgotten its purpose of helping businesses tell their stories effectively. The guarantee wasn’t just a marketing tactic because it was a moral commitment to align agency success with client outcomes.

  • On November 28th, the Balmoral Convention Centre in Ikeja transformed into a wild collision of Ibiza rave culture and Lagos’ energetic nightlife spirit as Desperados, one of Nigeria’s favourite party beers for Gen Z, staged the biggest Homecoming Party of the season. Over 5,000 young, self-expressive party lovers filled the hall, drenched in neon lights, surrounded by immersive visuals, and riding the pulse of back-to-back music that electrified the room all night.

From the first DJ sound to the final confetti burst, Desperados once again proved why it remains the undefeated favourite for Gen Z and young millennials who come ready to own the night.

Here are five unforgettable moments when Desperados shut down Lagos at the Homecoming Party:

    1. When Lagos Became Ibiza for a Night

The moment guests stepped in, Balmoral Convention Centre felt like a full-blown escape into a world where rules didn’t exist. Neon lights, immersive staging, bold colours, and a no-rules, all-vibes atmosphere turned the venue into a playground for unconventional expression. It was a fully immersive experience where Lagos energy met the free-spirit pulse of Ibiza. Attendees captured and amplified the vibes using the custom Desperados Snapchat filter, creating a wave of glowing AR snaps, and selfies. It was a fully immersive experience where Lagos energy met the free-spirit pulse of Ibiza.

    2. DJ Sets That Lit Up the Night

House beats, bass drops, and seamless transitions kept the crowd in nonstop motion. DJ Chelar, DJ Shawn, and DJ Consequence brought intoxicating rhythms with high-tempo sets that carried the rave and made it a dance party for the books. Whether you came for the music or for the vibes, these performances made sure you left with memories ringing in your ears.

    3. The Iconic Return of the Despe Trybe

The Homecoming Party truly felt like home when Ella Ley, Crispdal, Purplespeedy, Softmadeit, and Iyke Nnama made their dramatic grand entrance from about 16ft above the ground, elevated high above the crowd in a bold, rave-style reveal. As they descended, their chemistry, dance energy, and vibrant personalities brought the perfect blend of Ibiza flair and Naija flavour. The Trybe amplified the entire experience, leading the audience in dance and syncing the floor to the rhythmic DJ beat drops.

    4. A Crowd of 5000+ Free Spirits and Influencer Heat

More than 5,000 young partiers showed up ready to express themselves—rave fits, neon glasses, confetti blast, balloon pops, and everything in between—transforming the venue into a moving canvas of creativity. The night also drew in the first batch of IJGBs who had just returned for the holidays, eager to kick off their Detty December with an immersive, high-energy experience.

Top influencers, lifestyle creators, and nightlife tastemakers also pulled up, capturing standout moments, serving looks, and firing up massive engagement across social media. Their stories, videos, and real-time rave content amplified the Desperados experience far beyond the venue.

    5. The Unmistakable Taste of Desperados All Night Long

What’s a rave without the beer that defines the movement? Attendees stayed refreshed with delicious, flavoured Desperados beers all night—a reminder of why it remains the favorite party beer for the youth. Every sip fuelled the experience, every bottle pop heightened the energy, and every moment reinforced Desperados’ connection to bold, creative, no-rules fun.

From the lights to the music to the electrifying crowd, the Desperados Homecoming Party was an unforgettable cultural moment. With this Homecoming Party, Lagos nightlife establishes its place as Africa’s party capital with Desperados leading the movement.

  • Detty December is upon us, and we all know what that means: endless enjoyment and more opportunities to let loose than in the whole year combined. But before you get swept up in the season’s excitement, there are a few things worth keeping at the back of your mind.

Now, here’s what you need to remember if you want to have fun without ending up in situations you didn’t bargain for.

    January is RIGHT after December

Have your fun, but never forget that January is only thirty-one days on paper. Before you empty your account on parties, hangouts, and other “we outside” enjoyment, remember that bills, responsibilities, and real life will be waiting the moment the fireworks stop. Don’t set yourself up for financial heartbreak.

    December flings stay in December

Speaking of heartbreaks, there’s just something the holiday air does to people. Before you know it, you’ve met someone who’s giving you butterflies, and you’re already imagining a future and naming children in your head.

But once the season ends, reality returns. The IJGBs will carry their accents back to base, and even the local champions will return to their normal lives. For many people, a December fling is exactly that: a brief holiday romance. Enjoy it for what it is and protect your heart by keeping your expectations realistic.

    Protection is cheap

It’s not just your heart that needs protection this period. Your body does too. STIs don’t go on Christmas break, and the pull-out method has never been reliable family planning.

Protection is cheap, accessible, and just one message away through Honey & Banana. Before passion puts you in a situation you didn’t plan for, reach out and get clear advice on your contraceptive options ahead of time.

    Babies are expensive

In case you missed the last point, let us say it again. Babies are expensive.

Baby formula that barely lasts a week is now 34,000 Tinubu naira. Add diapers, clinic visits, school fees, and the emotional stress of raising a child with someone you met at a concert. Ask yourself if going raw with a December fling is really worth it. If anyone tries to convince you otherwise, remember they’re just trying to set you up.

Make this a December you remember for the best

December is for making good memories, not permanent responsibilities. Know your limits and protect yourself emotionally, physically, and financially by enjoying the season the smart way.

Honey & Banana is a private, non-judgmental platform that gives free family planning advice and connects you to a partner clinic near you to take up a method. Call 7790 to get started. Detty December is fast approaching!
