VirtX Limited, a 3D animation studio registered in Nigeria and the UK and dedicated to authentic storytelling, premiered its debut project “Stay Dry” on October 1, 2025 across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Set in Lagos, the short-form series follows six friends whose casual hangout spirals into a frantic night of water guns and survival inside a house rigged to soak unwary guests. The premise is playful, the pace is brisk, and the city itself becomes a character as VirtX demonstrates a faster and more accessible model for 3D production.

Built as a proof of concept for VirtX’s iterative pipeline, the project aims to reduce production timelines and cost while maintaining cinematic quality. Episodes are designed for mobile viewing, with punchy runtimes and visual beats that land cleanly on vertical screens. The goal is simple and ambitious at the same time. Make premium feeling 3D content faster. Put it where young audiences already gather. Prove that African teams can lead in both craft and speed.
“This launch is about access and speed. We are proving that African teams can deliver world class 3D on tighter timelines without sacrificing heart,” said Nnanna Kama, CEO of VirtX and Director of Stay Dry. “Our renderer expertise meets our Lagos storytelling to create something playful and proudly homegrown.”
“From casting to final delivery, we designed a process that is agile and global at once,” said Maryjane Universal, Head of Production at VirtX and co-producer of the series. “It is fun, fast, and unmistakably African, and that balance is intentional.”
The voice cast features Daniel Etim Effiong, Lydian John, Maryjane Universal, and Nnanna Kama. Across the season, viewers can expect quick setups, inventive gags, and a steady rhythm of character moments that reward repeat viewing and sharing. Themes of Afrofuturism, resilience, innovation, and community run through the action comedy format, making the series a fit for young adults, animation enthusiasts, and families.
Behind the story is a production model that VirtX believes can expand the continent’s animation capacity. The team built a repeatable workflow, from layout to lighting to final frames, that prioritizes iteration and collaboration. The idea is to give African animators a playbook for faster output without lowering the creative bar. If more creators can ship more stories, more often, audiences will grow with them.
“Our goal is to rally a creative ecosystem while delighting and inspiring audiences,” added Nnanna. “If more African animators can ship more stories, more often, the audience will meet them there and the industry will accelerate.”
As Head of Production, Maryjane paired the release strategy with community building. The October 1, 2025 premiere arrived with character posters, teaser moments, and behind the scenes clips that invited fans into the process. The studio has been engaging directly with comments, duets, and fan art to keep momentum steady after launch.
