• If there was any week you shouldn’t have missed in Big Brother’s house, it was this one. The housemates almost brought down Biggie’s house, and at some point, he had to set them straight with a punishment. But that wasn’t even the worst of what happened in the No Loose Guard house this week.

Let’s get into all the major chaos.

    Chinwe’s “anini” accusation

Earlier in the week, Nelly found a jewellery box that didn’t belong to her among her belongings and asked the other female housemates who owned it. It turned out the jewellery box belonged to her sworn enemy, Chinwe. Chinwe ran with the grand theory that Nelly was an armed robber until Rhuttee, who’d watched the chaos play out, conveniently mentioned that she placed the jewellery box on Nelly’s luggage.

    Chinwe’s missed period

After weeks of trials and tribulations in their relationship, Zion and Chinwe finally resolved their issues and had hot sex in Biggie’s bathroom. Next thing we know, Chinwe is worried sick, confiding in her friend that she’s missed her period. Biggie might need to prepare to add ‘granddaddy’ to his title.

    Sapa or fitfam?

Biggie says he wants the housemates to stay fit and healthy, but we think the real tea is that Sapa has finally touched the Big Brother house. God, abeg. The housemates’ access to the kitchen was restricted to twice daily, for two hours each time. Hopefully, this restriction will be lifted in week 4.

    Kellyrae’s mild outburst

Our husband man might finally be cracking under the pressure of keeping his marriage a secret from the housemates. After keeping his cool most of the time, Kellyrae had to set his wife, Kassia, straight for engaging in Toby Forge’s advances. Toby offered Kassia a foot massage in her husband’s presence, and though she initially refused, she still placed her legs on his lap. Our man had to pull his wife to the side and tell her to cut the bullshit.

    Rhuthee and Mayor’s almost-capsized ship

During a Truth or Dare game, Mayor Fresh not only crossed the line by confessing his likeness for Nelly and Handi but took things to the extreme by entertaining a steamy 10-second kiss with Handi. Rhuthee had a major meltdown about everything, stressing that she’d never felt so disrespected. Before we blinked twice, Mayor went around saying Handi forced herself on him, which made her call him out on the bullshit. Anyway, the lovebirds managed to resolve their issues and keep things moving.

    Biggie’s punishment

Even though they claim to know it’s a game, the housemates are clearly under the grand illusion that they’re on some vacation, so they move without regard for the house rules. Big Brother wasn’t having it. Apart from failing their wager, he promised them a punishment proportionate to their anyhowness. He said, “You have rewarded Big Brother’s hospitality with disdain. You have mistaken Big Brother’s tolerance for weakness. That ends tonight.”

    [ad]

    Rhuthee X Wanni X Handi

The power of two might have helped the twins against Rhuthee during their first face-off, but she stunned them into silence during the second. Rhuthee, who’d had enough of the twins taunting her because of their custodian power, confronted and levelled some weighty allegations of incest and sex-for-pay against them. She did all this while cooking noodles and sharing a kiss with her man, Mayor Fresh. But she didn’t have the last laugh.

    First double eviction night

Flourish, Streeze, Radicals, and Beta made the bottom four this week, and the custodians had the power to save only two. Understandably, they saved their guys, Ben and Tjay, leaving the other housemates to vote Flourish and Streeze out of the house. In typical Handi X Wanni fashion, they taunted Rhuthee to her face after Ebuka’s announcement, making the exit one for the books since we last saw Lucy Edet storm out of Biggie’s house.

    Custodian challenge’s out

After last night’s double eviction, Ebuka announced that the custodian challenge had finally ended, and everything returned to the status quo. Now, housemates will put each other up for possible eviction, and the HOH title will return with immunity. Fingers crossed to see how this plays out.

  • It might have taken the BBNaija No Loose Guard housemates more than 14 days to divide Biggie’s house, but it’s finally happened, and we’re here for all the premium entertainment.

If you’re wondering why you keep seeing certain housemates always together when you tune in to the channel, it’s because Biggie’s children have rewired the season’s theme to “Battle of The Cliques.” As a fan or viewer, the next question that should keep you up at night is: “Which clique should I bet on?”

    Mbadiwe Twins X Chekas

This clique started with heavy family reunion vibes until we blinked, and Ozee began working harder than the god of thunder to ship Onyeka. One thing about this clique is that they just want to win tasks and gossip. They might entertain you while doing it, but don’t get it twisted—that’s not their primary mission.

    Rank-o-meter: Vibes on Vibes

    Shaun X Wanni X Handi

If you haven’t exhausted your “God abeg” prayers on this clique, then you’re probably watching the back of your TV. At this point, Wanni X Handi’s parents should accept that they now have a triplet. The twins have their eyes on the money but are also dead ready to tear down Biggie’s roof if push comes to shove.

Victoria could have been part of this clique, but her partner seems to have forgotten they came into the house together.

    Rank-o-meter: Problematic AF

    Nelita X Aces

The Aces are the baby boys of the house. They couldn’t care less about Biggie’s ₦100m prize. Whether they win or not, they’re fine. They’re in the house for a good time, not necessarily a long time. But they’ve done the smart thing by attaching themselves to Nelly and Anita, who both have their heads in the game.

    Rank-o-meter: Vibes on Vibes

    Zinwe X Floruish X Victoria

Resident mother gagool, Chinwe, takes full credit for planting division in the house after recruiting Rhuttee into her hate party against Nelly. Unfortunately, landing in the bottom four rattled her badly, and now she thinks the housemates are against her. But that hasn’t stopped her from being vile.

Victoria shouldn’t be part of this clique, but this is what happens when your sworn partner tosses you aside like onions in cheap shawarma. Zion and DJ Flo are also members of this clique by circumstance.

     [ad]

    Rank-o-meter: Problematic AF

    Beta

These ones will probably observe their way out of Big Brother’s house. They know all the cliques but aren’t ready to give their allegiance to anyone. Instead, they have one foot in and the other out. This makes them problematic AF because what even is a person with no strong sense of loyalty?

    Rank-o-meter: Problematic AF

    Streeze

This clique will stay confused until the day Ebuka announces them as the next evicted housemates. Toby Forge’s extreme obsession with Biggie’s kitchen and food has turned him into an “Anywhere belle face.” Mayor Frosh, on the other hand, is after Rhuthee’s pants and may have lost his focus. This duo and the Beta group shouldn’t be in Biggie’s house for another week. Send them home.

  • If the BBNaija No Loose Guard housemates made anyone think this season might be a snooze fest, they clearly worked harder than the devil himself to shake things up in Week 2.

This week gave us the season’s first multiple gbas gbos, first wager win, and first Heads of House eviction. But that’s not all. Here’s what went down:

    The cliques are cliqueing

BBNaija Week 2 Recap: Wanni X Handi Win Custodian Challenge, Ndi Nne Sent Packing

Cliques are always a thing in every BBNaija season, and we have Chinwe of the Zinwe duo to thank for kicking things off this season. Her dislike for Nelly has led her to recruit DJ Flo and Rhutiee into a mean girls’ club. Meanwhile, the Mbadiwe twins and Chekas have formed their own squad, thanks to Ozee’s interest in Onyeka, and then there’s the Wanni X Handi X Shaun combo. God abeg.

    Gbas gbos

BBNaija Week 2 Recap: Wanni X Handi Win Custodian Challenge, Ndi Nne Sent Packing

The brewing tension in the house reached a tipping point this week on Thursday when housemates went at each other. First, Wanni X Onyeka screamed their lungs out after the former accused the latter of being stingy. Then, Chinwe went head-to-head with Chizoba for calling her “rude,” the day ended with a scuffle over food between Kellyrae and Michy.

Although things cooled off from Thursday to Saturday, the gbas gbos returned on Sunday night when Rhutiee confronted Wanni X Handi over their selfishness in the kitchen.

    Zion and Chinwe’s fallout

BBNaija Week 2 Recap: Wanni X Handi Win Custodian Challenge, Ndi Nne Sent Packing

Chinwe has had a running theory since Week 1 that Zion is the weapon fashioned against her in the house. Things got heated between the pair this week after Chinwe fought with Chizoba of Chekas, and Zion asked her to apologise. However, Chinwe felt Zion’s attempt at peacemaking was him taking sides.

The lovers were at loggerheads for days, with Chinwe threatening to ask for a voluntary exit and telling other housemates she sponsored Zion on the show. While it seems like they’ve settled, Ebuka’s revelation that Chinwe bankrolled her man has likely caused more damage.

    More ships are sailing

If Week 1 in the house gave us Wanni X Shaun, Week 2 has delivered Topher and Anita, Rhutee and Mayor Fresh, Sooj and Nelly, and Ozee and Onyeka. Fingers crossed to see how far these relationships go.

    First wager win

The housemates lost their first wager under the Mbadiwe twins’ tenure as Heads of House, but their successors remedied this. Aunty and her niece led the house in delivering a mystery-themed task that left viewers confused AF. But a win is a win, regardless.

     [ad]

    Heads of house booted out

Thanks to the new Custodian twist introduced this season, winning HOH doesn’t come with immunity from eviction. Despite being loved by most housemates and helping them win their first wager, Ndi Nne couldn’t save their heads from the chopping block. After landing in the bottom four, the week’s custodians, Streeze, made the tough decision to evict the pair.

Wanni X Handi win the Custodians challenge

Rhutiee’s days might be numbered in the BBNaija house. In a surprising turn of events, Wanni X Handi emerged as the week’s custodians just minutes after their heated scuffle with Rhutiee. If Rhutiee’s duo makes the bottom four on Sunday, Wanni X Handi will easily decide to evict them.

  • Although the BBNaija No Loose Guard housemates have only been in Biggie’s house for seven days, they’ve already delivered enough drama to last the whole season.

From unexpected relationships to a resident gossip, here’s a breakdown of everything that happened in week 1.

    Ndi Nne’s custodian win

The aunt and niece duo, Chinne and Mary, secured the first immunity of the season by winning the custodian challenge. However, they seemed displeased after receiving zero votes during the Head of House (HOH) ballot.

    Mbadiwe twins as HOH

Ocee and Ozee, the Mbadiwe twins, made history as the season’s first Heads of House. Though their leadership kept things calm, they couldn’t win the house its first wager.

    Doublekay’s arena slip up

Posing as best friends in Biggie’s house isn’t easy, especially for a married couple. Kassia and her husband, Kellyrae, are struggling to keep their secret.

During Thursday’s arena games, Kassia almost kissed Kellyrae after he identified her scent correctly, hinting at their real relationship. It’s only a matter of time before they’re found out.

    Toby Forge applying pressure

Toby Forge is turning up the heat on Kassia, the season’s resident married woman. He confided in his partner about his feelings for Kassia and Kellyrae’s overprotectiveness. Toby even told Kassia to her face that he’s imagined kissing her since day one. Toby might be the downfall of Doublekay’s marriage.

    Shatoria’s failing partnership

Shaun and Victoria, aka Shatoria, are already showing signs of trouble after just one week in Biggie’s house. Their lack of compatibility became evident when Shaun failed to identify Victoria’s scent during the Thursday Arena game, making them the only pair to fail. This ship is destined to crash sooner than later. God, abeg.

    First kiss of the season

While housemates may be sending mixed signals, Wanni and Shaun are not. They’ve shared the season’s first kiss, and their relationship seems to be growing stronger. Despite rumours that Shaun is a player, only time will tell.

    [ad]

    OnyekaFM, the resident gistlover

Onyeka has taken it upon herself to know everyone’s business in the house, earning her the nickname “gistlover.” She’s been spilling all the tea unprovoked, and it’s only a matter of time before this backfires.

    Tami evicted

Toyosi and Dami were evicted during Sunday night’s eviction show, largely due to Dami’s conflicts in the kitchen. They were in the bottom four for viewer votes, and fellow housemates voted them out.

During their exit interview, Toyosi said she saw the eviction coming, citing Dami’s issues with others. Dami also admitted that her apology did little to change the housemates’ perception of her.

    New custodians

During Sunday’s live eviction show, Mayor Fresh and Toby Forge, known as the Streeze duo, were up for possible eviction. Two hours later, they emerged as the week’s custodians, earning them immunity from the next eviction round.

  • The ninth season of Big Brother Naija, tagged “BBNaija No Loose Guard,” has kicked off with a new set of housemates. As expected, the organisers are doing everything to thicken the plot, starting with introducing housemates as pairs.

It’s too early to tell if these twists and turns will save the season from being a snooze fest, but here’s all we know so far about how Biggie plans to run this season.

    Housemates in pairs

The show started on Sunday night with 14 pairs, totalling 28 housemates. This might be the first time the house has had so many housemates at once, potentially leading to more double evictions.

    Custodian challenge

The Custodian Challenge will happen every Sunday after the live eviction show. Winners get immunity from eviction and receive a mystery card that holds power in the game. Ndi Nne won the first Custodian Challenge of the season.

    HoH ballot system

Apart from the custodians, the housemates will elect the next Head of the House using a ballot system every Monday at 10 a.m. Pairs cannot vote for themselves to be elected HOH.

    [ad]

    Custodian lock-in

On Mondays, the week’s custodians will participate in the Custodian Lock-In challenge at 1:30 p.m. They must decide whether to accept the mystery card’s responsibility and embrace its consequences, good or bad. The custodians also have the option to transfer the title and card to another pair.

    General immunity challenge

The Immunity Challenge is back this season, allowing more pairs to escape nominations and evictions for the week. It’s unclear if general immunity applies to both members of a pair or just individuals. This challenge will happen at 2 p.m. on Mondays.

  • Besides being stuck indoors with total strangers for more than two months, the hardest thing in Big Brother’s house is getting laid. Privacy for genital slamming was surely not an option for the organisers.

But this doesn’t mean the housemates don’t make it work. We decided to rank the bedrooms of the show based on how well they allow mekwe to occur.

    Double Wahala

The beds in this room aren’t even large enough to accommodate an adult, much less two. Any form of sexual gymnastics will end with one person falling off the bed.

    Sex-o-meter: Abort mission

    All stars

Apart from the beds being super close and the possibility of rolling into your neighbour’s space while going hard at it, we’ll pick the blue room. It’s not as attention-seeking as the pink room.

    Sex-o-meter: Good for mekwe

    Lockdown

Even if the lights go off at night, the bright paint colours in this room will cast a shadow and announce your activities to other housemates. God abeg.

    Sex-o-meter: Abort mission

    Pepper Dem

We can forgive the heavy dormitory look, but the red bedspreads? Jail everyone involved.

    Sex-o-meter: Abort mission

     [ad]

    Shine Ya Eyes

The organisers only considered the sexual needs of two sets of housemates when they designed this room. That’s why you have the last bed in the corner several inches higher than the rest. Y’all could put yourselves in seven positions, and no one will suspect a thing.

    Sex-o-meter: Good for mekwe

    Level up

At first glance, you might think the wallpapers are too distracting, but if you actually look closely, they distract you from whatever is happening on the bed.

  • Let’s be honest: the BBNaija houses from previous seasons have been a mix of “They nailed it” and “They missed the mark.”

With some time on our hands, we decided to put Meta’s AI to the test by designing the house for the new BBNaija season. Did it deliver? Let’s find out.

    The main lounge

We Tasked Meta’s AI to Design a House for the BBNaija 2024 Season

The prompt was to design a large living area to house 22 reality star participants. AI didn’t quite deliver fully, but it gets a B+ for stripping off the warehouse feel, which is always present in BBNaija lounges.

    The kitchen

We Tasked Meta’s AI to Design a House for the BBNaija 2024 Season

Whoever the next Whitemoney, Ka3na, or Lucy is, they’ll be grateful for this kitchen with everything they need to cook their way to the finals.

    The bedroom

We Tasked Meta’s AI to Design a House for the BBNaija 2024 Season

Something about this bedroom is too comfortable. We didn’t sign up to watch housemates sleep for 24 hours on national TV.

    The arena

We Tasked Meta’s AI to Design a House for the BBNaija 2024 Season

Is this the BBNaija arena we deserve but have never gotten?

    The party room

Everyone who watches BBNaija can agree that the organisers have treated the party room as an afterthought in the last four seasons. The sick design aside, we expect a party room as spacious as this in the new season.

    [ad]

    The garden

At least this garden has enough space for all the housemates, so they wouldn’t have to cram themselves onto one sofa.

    Laundry room

It doesn’t need to have this many washing machines, but can the BBNaija organisers take a cue from this and design a bigger laundry room?

    Walk-in closet/Dressing area

Again, AI is schooling BBNaija organisers and showing that space is what you need most when you have about 22 adults in one place.

    The Head of House chair

Something about this HOH chair gives us Wakanda Forever vibes, but we’ll take it. It’s also nice that AI threw in something for the deputies.
