Rema has officially confirmed that his anticipated third studio album is complete and will arrive before the end of the year. The exciting announcement was unveiled during a special Spider-Man-themed event at the cinema, attended by fans on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Rather than dropping the project’s title, Rema invited listeners directly into the rollout. Adding to the excitement, he gave a cryptic riddle to fans at the cinema, giving his fanbase exactly 48 hours to decipher the forthcoming album’s title. The riddle is packed with symbolic references to colour, time, memory and his past releases. And it has ignited speculation across the internet as fans eagerly dissect every clue.

I couldn’t resist the challenge, so I’m joining the hunt. Using two guesses, I’ll be breaking down the timeline, analysing the lore step-by-step and attempting to decipher the strongest title (with an extra option) of Rema’s next album. Let’s crack the code.
Theory A
1. The timeline clues
“I was heard in the year of the barbenheimer fever, yet I have not truly been born… Return to the crime.”
The Year: “Barbenheimer” took over global pop culture in the summer of 2023. This confirms the hidden word or concept that Rema is talking about was first introduced during his 2023 release cycle.
The Crime: Rema explicitly tells us to “return to the crime.” In October 2023, he released the widely acclaimed RAVAGE EP. Track 3 on that EP is titled “Smooth Criminal.” The scene of the crime is this specific song.

2. The thematic clues
“I slept beside an animal while an entire world bled around us. I belong to the world with the glowing pineal gland in the brain. I belong to the THIRD door, but my shadow crossed the sequel to the SECOND.”

The Bleeding World: This aptly describes the visual aesthetic of the RAVAGE EP era. The artwork and promotional videos featured Rema in a fiery, apocalyptic, blood-red world alongside an animal—specifically, a horse.
The Third Door: The “glowing pineal gland” represents the Third Eye, aligning with the “THIRD door”—his impending third album. Rema’s ongoing lore heavily features skeletal and anatomical imagery where the inner mind is activated.
The Shadow: His second album is HEIS (2024). The riddle suggests the word we’re hunting for was either delivered as an ad-lib (“shadow”) in HEIS or cleverly hidden in the music videos that followed it.

3. Deciphering the title
“My beginning is the colour right in front of you. My ending is what remains… disguised as a word with no meaning.”
The Beginning: Rema’s signature aesthetic colour, and the dominant hue of the Ravage era’s “bleeding world” is RED.
The Ending: What remains after a fire or a bleeding, apocalyptic world? ASH (or DUST or RUIN).
The Meaningless Word: The riddle explicitly states that the title is a “word with no meaning.” If we combine the prefix and suffix decoded above, we get a coined portmanteau. The most logical combination of these clues points directly to a word like REDASH.
Theory B
1. Find the instruction, leave the answer
Most cryptics hide one line that tells you how to read the rest. Here it’s the last two: “do not look ahead”, which perhaps means to read backwards. “Return to the crime” tells you what you’ll get when you do. Before knowing a single letter, you know the shape of the answer: a word that reverses into the name of a crime.
2. Establish keys words
Two lines define this part: “My beginning is the colour right in front of you” and “My ending is what remains.” This signifies beginning and ending. Two halves assembled together. So, the target is [colour] + [something]
3. Note the phrasing
The colour is right in front of you. Not “the colour of blood” or “the colour of fire. It’s right in front of you.
The line immediately preceding it: “an entire world bled around us.” This points to Blood. Blood is RED in colour.
Then Rema says, “My ending is what remains.” This points to Rum, which is distilled from molasses. It’s the residue left behind after sugar refining. It’s literally and industrially, what remains.
4. Test the reversal
RED + RUM = REDRUM.
Backwards: MURDER.
Now, reread the opening with REDRUM in hand and the imagery of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining comes to mind.
- “a word with no meaning” — in the movie, Danny Torrance scrawls REDRUM on the door with red lipstick. It’s gibberish until seen in a mirror.
- “I arrived before my time” — Danny writes this before the murder it predicts has occurred.
- “the world with the glowing pineal gland in the brain” — the pineal gland is the third eye, the seat of psychic sight. This is the world where people have that gift is the world of the shining itself.
- “I slept beside an animal while an entire world bled around us” — this points to the man in the bear costume in Room 237, and the elevator hemorrhaging blood down the corridor. “Slept” doubles as a nod to Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining.
My conclusion
While Rema is known for playing chess with his artistic lore, the breadcrumbs he left behind in this riddle are too precise to ignore. By combining the visual aesthetics of the bleeding world, the strict 2023 timeline, and the math of a “word with no meaning,” I’m locking in my guess: Rema’s third studio album will be titled REDASH or REDRUM.
