• “I Think Every Woman Should Experience HERtitude” — 6 Hot Babes on HERtitude and What It Means to Them

HERtitude will always hold a special place in my heart.

HERtitude has always been more than an event. It’s a space where women come together to feel free, safe, and fully themselves. Across different editions, attendees have found joy, connection, healing, and community that have stayed with them long after the day ended.

Here’s how some hot babes described their HERtitude experiences.

    1. “Being Surrounded by So Many Stunning Women Was Incredible” — Alex*, 22

I’ve only attended the 2024 edition of HERtitude, and honestly, I went mainly for the women. I was extremely curious to see what an event without men present would look like, and I was not disappointed in any way. The bouncers were women, the DJs were women, the people giving wrist tags at the entrance were women, and women ran all the vendor shops. I was in awe.

I loved being in the VIP Sparkle spot. The panel discussion was engaging and thought-provoking. I met so many amazing women I’ve always admired, and I was overwhelmed by a mix of emotions. The free therapy consultation I got at the NDIDI stall was one of my biggest highlights of the event. I absolutely loved the fashion show and the dance competitions. They were really memorable. The bouncing castle was a surprise, and bouncing on it for a good minute made me really, really happy.

HERtitude was a great experience overall. Being surrounded by so many stunning women was incredible, and I would recommend it to any woman who wants a safe space to enjoy herself without men. If the economy lets me, I would love to attend again this year.

    2. “I Danced My Heart Out Because I Was Surrounded by Gorgeous and Respectful Women” — Ese, 24

I attended the 2024 HERtitude at a weird time in my life. My dad was sick, I was in a relationship that brought me little joy, and I hadn’t left my house in months. My friends were persistent and wanted me to get out by any means necessary, so they got me a free ticket to HERtitude. At the last minute, I decided to give it a chance. I am happy I did.

I had a wonderful time. Women kept telling me how beautiful I looked. I took shots with my friends, and the female bartenders were sweet. They’d tell you how pretty you are and even dance with you. I’m so used to dancing at raves and parties where men are always trying to dance with me, but at HERtitude, I danced my heart out because I was surrounded by gorgeous women who were so respectful. I didn’t realise how much I needed that.

I’d love to attend again, though that depends on whether my friends are going too. Their presence also played a massive role in my having a great time at the event.

    3. “Everyone Felt Free to Express Themselves Without Worrying About Men” — Atty, 25

I’ve attended all editions of HERtitude, but to date, the first, in 2022, will always hold a special place in my heart. It was my first time attending a women-only event, and I went in curious, wondering how it would go.

From the moment I stepped into the venue until I left, the energy felt different. It was nice because, a lot of times, when women have to go to spaces that aren’t just for them, they have to dress or appear a certain way so they won’t attract weirdness, but at HERtitude, that didn’t happen. Everyone in attendance was free to express themselves fully and wear whatever they wanted to wear without having to worry about the possibility of men being around to perv on them. That was really nice.

The dance competitions, the fashion show, and the karaoke sessions all added to the fun. I spent an hour screaming out some of my favourite songs, and I had so much fun with that. The economy in 2022 was also kinder, so I was able to shop freely at the vendors’ stalls, which added to the experience.

Overall, it was exciting. I had so much fun that when the 2023 edition was announced, I got excited and made sure my friends were as excited about the event as I was. It’s so much fun to experience a space where men are not present, and I believe this is why I’m so loyal to HERtitude. It provides a sense of community where women can fully be themselves without feeling they need to perform. All of these make HERtitude an event worth coming back to.

    4. “I Will Always Preach the Gospel of HERtitude” — Mayo, 28

I have been present at every HERtitude event right from the first edition. In 2022, I attended because not only was I curious about a women-only event, but I was also a big fan of Zikoko, so attending was a no-brainer for me. I remember coming late to the first edition but still having so much fun. That edition was so exciting, and it made me think, “Wow. What a concept.” And it was right from there that I just knew I wouldn’t miss any HERtitude for the world.

My best part of the first edition was the bouncing castle. HERtitude was the first adult event I’d been to with a bouncing castle, and it made me so happy because what do you mean you have a bouncing castle for women to jump on, play, and let their inner child out? It was so exciting, and it healed my inner child.

My favourite part of the second edition in 2023 was the women. The way each and every one of them dressed and expressed themselves was so fascinating to see, and I was just so happy to be there to see them in those beautiful outfits and full beats. Another exciting thing was the feeling of being complimented by so many women. It was so exciting.

In 2024, I was already a member of staff, so I was now part of the team, and that was a different experience for me. Being part of the team that conceptualised everything from the ground up was a surreal experience. Knowing how the event was pulled together to work and being one of the people who contributed to that was the best part for me. Another memorable experience from this particular edition was the new friend I made, because we are still friends to this day.

The 2025 edition was arguably my favourite one. The theme was centred on old Nollywood, so everyone, including me, went out with it. I was really excited about shopping for outfits and accessories that fit the theme, and I was so happy to see how the women turned up. At the 2025 edition, I balanced my duties as a staff member with my desire to be fully present at the event, so I had a lot of fun. I played many games, danced, and enjoyed myself until the end of the event.

One thing about me is that I always attend HERtitude, preach the HERtitude gospel, and drag all my friends to HERtitude. It is so exhilarating, and every woman should experience HERtitude.

    5. “The Words I Heard Stayed With Me Long After The Event Ended” — Sophia, 23

The 2024 edition was perfect for me. Beyond the familiar feeling of safety and comfort that comes with being around women, I especially enjoyed how the confined space encouraged everyone to mix and participate in the event. There was also the fact that all attendees, including the regulars, could sit on the bare floor because it was carpeted. I really loved that.

Another part of the 2024 edition that I continue to hold to my chest has to be the quasi-consultation with the therapists from NDIDI. Getting the chance to speak to them relieved me of something that had been bugging me for a while, and everything I heard from the therapist meant a lot to me. The words I heard stayed with me long after the event ended. Apart from that, I also had a great time with all my friends. The 2024 edition would always be special to me.

While I also had fun in 2025, I was sort of disappointed that the edition gave us the room to isolate ourselves, and unlike 2024, we didn’t even have somewhere to sit, so that wasn’t too great.

One of the reasons I’m not too sure about this year’s HERtitude is that, aside from academic reasons, the commute back home is not only costly but also dangerous and stressful. If there is a transport system for when the program ends, that would be really great.

    6. “I Loved The Fact That Women Allowed Themselves to Have Fun” — Kris, 24

I’ve only been to one HERtitude, and that was the 2024 edition, and I would definitely give it an 8/10. I loved how it was just women-centric, and I really enjoyed all the available segments.

My favourite part of the event was the stage dancing competitions. I really loved the fact that the women allowed themselves to have fun without worrying about men touching or harassing them. All the activities I got up to were also very fulfilling, and I appreciated that too. Being able to exist in an environment where men are not allowed to be involved was so beautiful.

I look forward to the next edition because I can’t wait to connect with more women and also see the activities they have to offer.
