Amy Okonkwo is a Nigerian basketball player and the captain of the women’s national team, D’Tigress. She is known for her strong scoring ability, defensive awareness and leadership on and off the court. Her presence has been central to the team’s dominance in African basketball.
She is being honoured for leading D’Tigress to a 5th consecutive AfroBasket title. She earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for her performance throughout the championship. Her leadership and all-round excellence drove the team’s continued reign at the top of African basketball.
