Ten years after beginning its journey to create greater access, visibility and opportunity for African women in technology, She Code Africa, a Pan-African nonprofit organisation working to equip African girls and women with digital skills and foster economic independence, will mark its 10th anniversary with the She Code Africa Summit 2026, taking place on September 19, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria.
Held under the theme “A Decade of Impact: African Women Architecting the Digital Future,” the Summit will bring together 500+ women in technology alongside founders, industry leaders, investors, ecosystem partners and other stakeholders for a day of learning, networking, collaboration and conversations about the future of Africa’s digital economy.
The Summit marks a significant milestone for She Code Africa as it celebrates ten years of creating pathways for African girls and women to access digital skills, mentorship, career opportunities and resources needed to participate and thrive in the technology ecosystem.
Since its inception in 2016, She Code Africa has impacted more than 65,000 women through its programs and scholarships, while its community has grown to more than 50,000 members across 20+ African countries.
What began as a movement connecting African women interested in technology has evolved into a Pan-African nonprofit organisation delivering programmes across digital skills development, technical training, scholarships, digital literacy, mentorship and career development. Through these initiatives, She Code Africa has worked to address some of the barriers that continue to affect women’s participation in technology, including limited access to digital skills, devices, mentorship, professional networks and economic opportunities.
Beyond conversations about technology, the Summit will explore the progress made over the past decade and the opportunities, challenges and collective action required to build a more inclusive digital future for Africa. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and practitioners, connect with peers, explore career and business opportunities, build meaningful professional relationships and engage with conversations shaping the continent’s technology ecosystem.

As She Code Africa enters its second decade, the organisation is looking beyond the milestone to the work still ahead: expanding access to digital skills, creating more pathways into the technology economy, strengthening opportunities for women to build and lead, and ensuring that African women have a meaningful role in shaping the continent’s digital future.
The She Code Africa Summit 2026 will serve as both a celebration of the organisation’s decade of impact and a platform for imagining what the next decade can make possible.
