When Taiwo Adebola entered the Guinness Open For More promotion, he probably did not imagine that a bottle of Guinness would become part of the story of his business.

Taiwo, who lives in Okokomaiko, is one of the Nigerians who have won ₦1 million since the National Consumer Promotion began. For him, the money came at a good time. The win has given his business a much-needed boost and opened up room for him to do some of the things he had been putting off.
His story is one of several coming out of the promotion, which has now completed six weekly draws and produced 642 winners across Nigeria.
Every Friday at 3 p.m., Guinness Nigeria holds a live draw on its Instagram page. At each draw, 107 consumers emerge as winners: seven take home ₦1 million each, while another 100 win ₦100,000. After six draws, 600 Nigerians have won ₦100,000, while 42 people have become ₦1 million winners.

For Guinness Nigeria, the growing number of winners is beginning to put real faces and stories behind the promotion.
“We have seen a strong response to Open For More since the promotion began, and it has been great to see consumers from different parts of the country getting the opportunity to win,” said Mayor Esiaba, Category Head of Beer, Guinness Nigeria. “We have completed the first six draws, but there are still many more opportunities to participate and win. We are looking forward to seeing more consumers become part of the story.”

Then there is Uche’s family plot twist
For Uche Valentine Opara, the news that he had won ₦100k was already enough of a surprise. Then he found out that his brother had also entered the promotion and won.

Two brothers. Two entries. Two ₦100k wins.
It is the sort of family story that would sound a little far-fetched if someone else told you about it. But for Uche, that is exactly what happened. The experience has given him a story to tell, and it is one that captures what makes consumer promotions interesting in the first place: you enter with no guarantee of what will happen, and sometimes the result is a very pleasant surprise.
A month in, the numbers are adding up
The weekly live draws are conducted with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) approval and at the latest draw, FCCPC was represented by Odion Oyelowo, Senior Standards Officer, and Omolola Allison, Assistant Chief Scientist Officer.

For consumers watching from home, the draw is also an opportunity to see the winners selected in real time. With 107 winners announced every Friday, there is a new set of names to look out for each week.
And the promotion is far from over. Guinness Open For More promotion offers ₦1 million prizes, ₦100,000 cash prizes for thousands of consumers and a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado as the grand prize, with more than ₦400 million in cash and prizes available throughout the promotion.
