The Marvel Cinematic Universe brought us the Avengers, and nothing has been the same. The franchise’s cult following needs to be studied. The films, which showcase themes of adventure, legacy and heroism, have brought together fans from far and wide.
In Nigeria, Avengers: Endgame was no different. Released in 2019, the film grossed ₦528 million, making it one of the highest-grossing Hollywood releases in Nigerian box office history.
Now, we have two Avengers films coming in 2026 and what a way to make the year. Avengers: Endgame Encore arrived in September, followed by the much-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday in December.
But before we look ahead to what is coming next, there is an opportunity to look back.
Avengers: Endgame was more than just another film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After years of following the stories of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, and the rest of the Avengers, the film brought an era of the MCU to a close. It gave fans moments they had waited years to see, conversations that continued long after the credits rolled, and, of course, a few moments that nobody was ready for.
For many fans, Endgame was also a shared experience. It was the anticipation before watching the film, trying to avoid spoilers, and finally getting to experience one of the biggest films of its time on the big screen with other people who understood exactly why it mattered.
Seven years later, Avengers: Endgame Encore gave fans another opportunity to relive that experience.
As part of the Road To Doomsday, Filmhouse Cinemas brought fans together once again to experience Avengers: Endgame Encore.
The journey also includes Inside Marvel by Filmhouse, a community created to bring Marvel fans together as they relive moments that have defined the franchise and look ahead to what comes next.
While Endgame may have marked the end of an era, the Avengers’ story is far from over.
And with Avengers: Doomsday arriving in December, there may be no better time to return to where one of the MCU’s biggest moments took place.
The Road To Doomsday begins at Filmhouse Cinemas.
