The Fibroid Care Centre (FCC) at Nordica usually celebrates each time another woman has been helped by their cutting-edge treatment for fibroids and adenomyosis. However, on October 3rd 2026, the FCC took the festivities to the next level by celebrating their 1000th successful HIFU treatment with an all-white themed party.
The event kicked off with a welcome address by the Managing Director, Dr Abayomi Ajayi, who spoke about the business’s growth journey, which started in 2021. He recalled how other establishments were sceptical about the efficacy of the radical HIFU treatments used by the FCC to treat these life-altering diseases.
With a desire to do their best and help as many women in need as possible, they pushed through many difficulties and have now brought renewed hope and advanced treatment options to 1000 women in West Africa. The High Intensity Focused Ultrasound treatments are completely non-invasive and allow women with fibroids and adenomyosis access to a treatment option that doesn’t ravage their bodies or leave a scar.
The welcome address was followed by an address by the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Health Service Commission, Dr Femi Omololu, who praised the groundbreaking work of the Fibroid Care Centre. After this, the audience was treated to a live musical performance, a spoken word rendition, and other engaging performances.
The event didn’t just point to the women who already have their diagnosis, the audience was also given tips and symptoms to look out for that may point to a fibroid or adenomyosis diagnosis. The audience also got to hear a live testimonial from the 1000th woman who was successfully treated using the HIFU method, and travelled from Abuja only a week after her treatment.
This event wasn’t just to celebrate a landmark and then rest on their laurels. The FCC is expanding its reach and is committed to making sure that women in need have fibroid and adenomyosis treatment options that give them full control over their reproductive lives and well-being with minimal pain.
