But one thing we never see talked about is how terrible our Nolly leads can be at making financial choices.

Here are some of your favorite Nollywood leads and the questionable financial decisions that set their lives off course.

Eniola Salami – King of Boys

Eniola’s (Sola Sobowale) rags-to-riches story is one of Nollywood’s greatest (ignoring her cr!minal activity, of course). But her downfall began when she used her wealth to bankroll a political ally, triggering government investigations that threatened her empire.

Efe Edewor –To Kill a Monkey

At first, Efe (William Benson) joined his friend’s crime syndicate to pull his family out of poverty. But once the money started flowing, he didn’t stop. Thanks to his greed, he eventually loses all the people he was fighting for in the first place.

Quam Omole – Quam’s Money

Quam (Falz) is a security guard turned overnight millionaire. In a too-good-to-be-true deal, Quam “invests” ₦500 million, subsequently losing all his riches in what is, of course, a scam.

Andy – Sugar Rush

When the Sugar sisters stumble upon $800,000 that isn’t theirs, Sola’s boyfriend, Andy, decides the smartest move is to quietly steal some of the cash for himself rather than stick with the plan. The cost is high: his life.

Chief Beecroft – Chief Daddy

Chief Beecroft (Taiwo Obileye) was generous, but he was a terrible financial planner. Leaving behind a stupidly vague will, the chief leaves his dysfunctional family fighting over his massive wealth.

Zuri – The Smart Money Woman

Zuri (Osas Ighodaro) earns ₦600k/month. By Nigerian metrics, she is a high earner. However, her designer lifestyle massively outpaces her income, and soon she’s drowning in debt.
