When Nigerians want affordable Android smartphone options, they often pick the Infinix, and for a good reason.

Not only is it one of Nigeria’s most popular Android phone brands, but it’s also one of the most affordable. At least, these six Nigerians think so.

Thanks to their input, here are six of the cheapest and most capable Infinix models, ranked from basic to best in terms of specifications.

6. Infinix Smart 8 – ₦120k

If affordability is your top priority, the Infinix Smart 8 is worth buying. It has a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera and a 5,000mAh battery.

Yasmin*, a three-year user, says, “The camera is suitable for everyday photos, particularly in good lighting, but not at night.” If content creation is your goal, you might want a different model.

5. Infinix Hot 40 – ₦140k

The Infinix Hot 40 moves beyond an entry-level phone. It’s fairly affordable while also capable of heavier-duty tasks. It has a 50MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 32MP front camera. It also has a Super Night Mode designd to improve pictures taken in low-light conditions.

Janice*, a two-year user, claims her selfies “always come out clear, and the durability is even better than that of an iPhone.” However, she still recommended a higher-end phone in the series as her phone is prone to lagging.

4. Infinix Smart 20 – ₦162k

The Infinix Smart 20 is another popular phone. As one of Infinix’s more affordable models, it’s no surprise that it’s a famous one.

Jacob*, who got his phone earlier this year, says he charges it “only once a day, and it lasts all day.” However, most of his pictures come out grainy.

3. Infinix Hot 40i – ₦180k

The Infinix Hot 40i features a 50MP rear camera and a 32MP front camera. It’s an option to consider if you need a phone for everyday photography, selfies and social media content without spending too much.

Ruth*, a social media manager, takes pictures and records content with this phone for her personal social media page and claims the camera quality isn’t “particularly good or bad.” However, she said the phone’s durability was fantastic.

2. Infinix Hot 60i – ₦170k

The Infinix Hot 60i is another option to explore if you’re looking for a newer phone in the Hot series. It features a 50MP rear camera, making it worth comparing with the Hot 40i and Hot 40 if you’re shopping for a budget-friendly device.

Wura* recommends the Hot 60-70 series as a nice upgrade for those in the market for an affordable Infinix phone.

1. Infinix Hot 70 – ₦195k

Finally, as one of the most recommended Infinix models, the Infinix Hot 70 is top-rated. With a 6,000Ah battery, 45w fast charging, and claimed water resistance, this is the phone for heavy users who also take lots of pictures and videos.

Oge* uses the Hot 70 and claims it is “super fast and smooth, with a camera quality that truly shines under the sun.”
