Aniyota Media is set to release its latest thought-provoking documentary, Model Citizen, a powerful visual story that challenges the traditional perception of models and celebrates the strength, creativity, and humanity behind the lens.

Model Citizen explores the journey of models who have transcended stereotypes, revealing their stories of perseverance, identity, and purpose. Through intimate storytelling and stunning visuals, the documentary redefines what it means to be “a model citizen” in a society that often judges by appearance rather than impact.

Being a model isn’t just about fashion or beauty, as the documentary implies. It’s about being an example, standing tall in the face of stereotypes, and using your platform to inspire others.

Why the Documentary Matters:
The documentary sheds light on conversations about model representation, gender perception, and the distinction between models and mannequins, making it a must-watch for anyone passionate about modelling, creativity, and purpose.

The cast, Nkemjika Okorafor, Adunolaoluwa Osilowo, Arafa Adele, Amaka Oguike, Ifeoma Anadu, Ifeoma Nwobu and Juliet Chioma Ezeigwe opened up about their experiences, and from the tone of their voice to their looks, everything about them shows models that refuse to be limited.

While recounting her role in the documentary, Nkemjika shared a few incidents as quoted below:

Models not getting proper endorsement is not just a Nigerian problem; it’s a global issue. If, as a model, you don’t have the numbers online, they’d give the deal to a celebrity who has the numbers.

One of the models, Amaka, also chimed in:

I think this documentary is major in the sense that there are so many issues that have gotten overlooked, and this documentary kind of brings more awareness to all those things that happen behind the scenes versus what you see out. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes.

The cast shared their excitement for the documentary as it is their way of contributing to the change they desire to see.
