Long before a relationship hits the rocks, there are usually little signs that pile up until you’re feeling more frustrated than happy in the relationship.
Recognising these signs early can help you figure out what’s bothering you and have an honest conversation with your partner before resentment sets in. Here are signs you could be experiencing relationship burnout

1. You no longer care about resolving disagreements
You’ve stopped trying to get your point across whenever you fight. These days, you’d rather say “you’re right” just to end the conversation, even when you don’t agree.
2. Spending time together feels like a chore
You no longer count down to your next date or look forward to plans with your partner. In fact, when those plans fall through, you feel more relieved than disappointed.
3. You keep forgetting to text them
You can go hours without replying to their messages, and sometimes you forget to respond altogether. When you text, you have little to say and don’t feel the need to tell them about every little thing happening in your day.
4. You’re becoming less affectionate
You don’t reach for your partner as often as you used to. The random cuddles and kisses are becoming less frequent. Even when you get intimate, it doesn’t feel as great as it once did.
5. You’ve started romanticising the past
You keep thinking about how good things were at the beginning of your relationship. Even that ex you swore you’d never go back to is looking a little less terrible.
6. You look forward to having the house to yourself
When your partner travels or has other plans, you secretly enjoy having the house to yourself. You miss them, of course, but you’re also in no hurry for them to come back.
7. You no longer picture your partner in your future
There was a time when you couldn’t imagine a future without your partner. Now, when you daydream about the future, they barely feature in it.
