Following the release of Wizkid’s second single of the year, “Joro” — a fantastic song by many, if not all, accounts — a bunch of people took to social media to call out the afropop juggernaut for supposedly phoning in it with his lyrics.
While “Joro” won’t win any songwriting awards, it’s far from a badly-penned song. Like most Wizkid hits, it excels by being simple enough to attach itself to your memory after a few listens. It’s why you probably already know every word to the track.
