There’s no party like the Lagos  Jameson party, and after the blast in Atlanta and London, we were glad that Lagos’ lived up to all the hype. So if you missed the All Connect party yesterday, we feel bad for you. Here’s the gist about everything you missed.

The space

Lagosians are known for aesthetics, and Jameson definitely met the standard. So even though my evening had started on a bad note. Bolt had changed me a ridiculous fee when the roads were particularly free that evening. But two seconds after stepping into the venue, seeing all the artsy decor, the colours and omg, the bar area! I realised it was totally worth it.

Free drinks

The space was great but I was getting really exhausted just waiting for more people to show up, so I decided to get a drink. And since all I had to do was literally walk up to the bar area and get a free cocktail, why not. Because who would pass up free booze in this economy? So, While some people made special orders, I allowed the bartender to surprise me. Now I wish I had paid more attention to what the mixture was, but it was perfect. Not too strong but just enough to give that buzz.

And the music?

For an event that was fixed for 6 p.m. it didn’t start till nearly four hours later. And the only thing that made the wait bearable was the fire music. A night with DJ Primeau, Wanni x Handi (the twin DJs) and DJ Obi is a night well spent. We heard everything from Beyonce’s Girls to Asake’s Terminator

. If that’s not giving range, we don’t know what will TBH.

New acts

Trust Jameson to be able to spot greatness. So at intervals of the DJ’s mixes, we saw performances from the amazing new acts. And after watching the electricity performance of Somadina, I’m a fan. And when Somadina came on stage during SGaWD’s performance, tears of joy.  Let’s not even get started on Reehaa, just 17 year old and dropping hot bars. It’s beginning to feel like I’ve been living under a rock because how was I just hearing Tonye’s music? or the Rebel official even??

Guest performances

While we were trying to recover from an overdose of vibes from Crayon’s performance, they brought on L.A.X, BOJ, Victony, Bella Shmurda, Badboytimz! All our faves in one place. Even Cruel Santino was there- someone referred to him as the alté Jesus, and honestly, we get it. Please, tell us a better lineup; we’ll wait.

All the vibes

We can’t tell if everyone was there with their squad or if squads were formed there, but wherever you turned, you’d find a group of people just vibing together. We absolutely loved to see it.

I think we can all agree that everyone was at the Homecoming with the number of friends I ran into at the event. And even though I couldn’t stay till the end of the event, I’ve been catching up with all the pictures and videos story updates on IG @ourhomecoming @jamesonngr
