There’s so much new music being released that it’s hard for even the most loyal fans to wade through the trash to find the gems. That’s why we’ve created #BumpThis – a Friday series that features new songs, by and featuring Nigerians, that you absolutely need to hear.
Victor AD — “Too Much Money”
Victor AD was one of 2018’s biggest breakout stars, thanks to the success of his beloved hit, “Wetin We Gain”. Since then, he’s dropped other solid singles (“Tire You”, “Emoji”), as well as a cohesive body of work (Red Eye), and now he’s back with a catchy new track, “Too Much Money”.
On the track, which has similar themes as “Wetin We Gain”, Victor AD sings about his relentless hunger for money. Name dropping famously wealthy Nigerians Iike Davido and Otedola, he says that he isn’t just content with being rich, he wants the kind of money that can solve every problem.
Zlatan — “Yeye Boyfriend”
Over the past year, Zlatan has been one of Nigeria’s most consistent hitmakers — shining on solo efforts and elevating other artists’ tracks. With his latest release, the infectious “Yeye Boyfriend”, he proves he still hasn’t run out of steam.
On the dance-ready track, the rapper hilariously chastises men who don’t know how to treat their women right — both emotionally and financially. It’s another easy hit from the star, with a chorus that will be chanted by women aplenty.
