There’s so much new music being released that it’s hard for even the most loyal fans to wade through the trash to find the gems. That’s why we’ve created #BumpThis – a Friday series that features new songs, by and featuring Nigerians, that you absolutely need to hear.

Timaya — “Sili-Kon”

While it never feels like he gets the credit he deserves, Timaya remains one of Nigerian music’s most consistent stars, dropping at least one major hit every year since he broke out.

Granted, 2019 already got that hit with the infectious “Balance”, but he’s now returned with another single that’s arguably even better: “Sili-Kon”, which was produced by Burna Boy’s go-to beatsmith, Kel P.

Even though the song’s main focus is an overdone afropop topic, an affinity for big butts, thanks to Kel P’s outstanding production work and Timaya’s smooth performance, “Sili-Kon” feels anything but stale.
