Like play like play, Independence Day is here again, and this time, it falls on the weekend, so it’s plenty of enjoyment for you. Because we want you to enjoy yourself, we’re suggesting six ways you can spend your Independence Day.

Thank us later.

1. Trek to Aso Rock to sing the National Anthem for Buhari.

As a loyal citizen of Nigeria who loves the fact that we’re turning a year older, take the trip to Aso Rock to visit Bubu and sing the national anthem for him. He will appreciate you. But if you want to get there in time, you should probably start trekking now sha. You have to be punctual.

2. Go to work.

Yes. When everyone is taking the long weekend, prove to your boss that you are truly indispensable. If you don’t get a raise at the end of October, quit your job.

3. Organise a prayer session with the people in your compound.

Idle hands are the devil’s workshop. If you don’t organise a prayer session with the people in your compound, they will use that time to be doing bad bad things, and you don’t want that. Let them pray.

4. Paint yourself green and white and dance on the road.

Nothing says. “I’m a patriot” like someone completely painted in green and white dancing on the road on Independence Day. And it’s fun too. Who knows? You can meet the love of your life in such an encounter.

5. Remix the national anthem and pledge.

What’s more fun than remixing the national anthem and pledge? You can even turn it into a gospel song and blow from there. Don’t you want to be the next Tope Alabi?

6. Why do all this when you can be chilling at Lakowe Lakes?

People are already registering to have the time of their lives with your faves Kemi Adetiba, Erica, Enioluwa, Debola Williams, and many others at Lakowe Lakes this Independence Day. The best thing you can do on Independence weekend (October 1st – 3rd, 2021) is to attend Lakowe Lake’s exclusive “Escape To The Greens”. It’s a two-day event packed with activities such as picnics, wine tasting, karaoke, open mics, golf tournaments, a bonfire, cooking with the chefs and so much more.

Don’t say we’re the ones that told you o, but if you take pictures at Lakowe Lakes, you can tell everyone you took them abroad.

We know what you’re thinking: How will I get there? See, there’s transportation from Victoria Island, Lagos once you register. It’s just N5k, chikini money 💃

If you want to relax, network, and enjoy yourself all in one place, don’t carry last. Escape To The Greens is the perfect event for you.

You can find out all you need to know here, and follow Lawoke Lakes on Instagram here.
