At 28 years old, Chigozie Obioma is the youngest on the shortlist. And on the list with him is a US Pulitzer Prize-winner.
Tom McCarthy, Sunjeev Sahota, Pulitzer winner Anne Tyler, US writer, Jasnya Yanagihara, and Jamaican, Marlon James are the other nominees for the prestigious prize.
Australian author Richard Flanagan won last year’s prize for his wartime novel The Narrow Road to the Deep North. The shortlisted authors each receive $3,853 and a specially bound edition of their book. The winner will receive a further cheque for $77,060.
Congratulations, and goodluck, to Chigozie Obioma!
