Here’s What We Were Up To At Zikoko In The Month Of October

November 6, 2010

1) The #EndSARS Stack

The #EndSARS protests took place in October 2020, and most traditional media houses refused to truthfully cover them. To avoid the truth getting lost in history, we put a pause on our regular content to document everything #EndSARS-related.

2) Citizen

Even though the #EndSARS protests renewed many Nigerians’ interest in politics, it was clear that many people had problems understanding political jargon. That’s why we created Citizen, a vertical that explains “how the government’s policies fucks citizens and how we can unfuck ourselves.”

3) Love Life

2020 has been a wildly chaotic year and we figured that everyone could use a little bit of sweetness in their lives. So, we launched Love Life. It’s a weekly series about “love, relationships, situationships and entanglements – how they start, how they end or where they’re going.”

4) The Zikoko Donation Widget

For lack of a better explanation, the media business is…one kind. Like things weren’t hard enough, COVID debuted this year and made things worse. To help us keep telling important stories, consider donating to us. You can do one-offs or a monthly subscription. There’s even an option for bitcoin.

More than ever, people are turning to Zikoko for stories that matter and content they love. But still, we, like many media organisations, are feeling the financial heat of these times. If you find us valuable, please make a contribution to help keep Zikoko zikoko-ing.

Thank you for your support.

We are also cool with Crypto.
