Yesterday, we finally got the trailer for the movie ‘Concussion’, starring Will Smith as the Nigerian Dr. Bennet Omalu, who in 2002, discovered a neurodegenerative disease affecting the brains of NFL players.
While the trailer does look pretty great, it has the Oscar nominee sporting a pretty wonky ‘Nigerian’ accent and expectedly Nigerian Twitter had a few things to say about it.
There were the detractors.
Just seen the ‘Concussion’ trailer.. And yes, Will Smith’s ‘Nigerian’ accent is indeed, wack sauce.

So they casted Will Smith in this film to play a Nigerian & his accent sounds like a combination of about 5 Countries in Africa. I'm weak ?

Well, personally, I am not crazy about the accent, but I am happy to see a movie about a Nigerian on the big screen. The movie is due out on the 25th of December, 2015.
